Well the only thing I would be sure of is that you have the right oil

10W-40 semi synthetic

Which I know should be fine in the pre 2001 models, but I would expect them to check that when you order. Don't see why it should not be fine, though I've got no idea how well the filter and oil performe over time.

Yes it is a good price. You may also need an air filter as well.

This is what Silkolene says on their website:
Quote:
Comp 4 10W-40, 15W-50 and 20W-50
Electrosyntec Technology - Synthetic ester based 4-stroke engine oils for all high performance motorcycles. Electrosyntec uses electrostatic forces to bond low friction molecules to stressed metal surfaces, releasing hidden power and ensuring long term performance retention. The exceptional stay-in-grade formulation protects engines and transmissions. Ester synthetics combat wear and friction on all critical load surfaces at high temperatures and during cold starts. It's got the JASO MA mark, which (according to embee) is what you should look out for, so should be fine.

Well I made the mistake of putting Synthetic oil in my SV rather than Semi-Synthetic and I had loads of problems with clutch slip. Which now that I've changed the oil again it has vanished.

The JASO MA is supposed to mean that it's ok for use with wet clutches.
