Default Bike type in Profile

Who think it would be a good idea to know what model people ride or relate to in there posts. As I have notice that its not always stated in the post.
Maybe we could just have a little bit added to your default profile?

I know some people have more that one bike, though this could relate to there main ride or just the SV that they own.

Then it just needs to be devided up into:
SV650 or 1000
Year
model S or N

I reckon that's a good idea- people often (myself included) often overlook to include this when posting to ask questions.

Similarly if people listed mods, it'd help when considering buying stuff, eg I could PM someone with a particular model hugger and ask if it was easy to fit, what's the colour mathc like, etc.

Temporary workaround is to put it in your signature. I'm not normally a fan of sigs (particularly ones with large pictures in), but it's ideal for this sort of thing.

Added bike and some of the mods to signature - good idea.

Good idea for the sidebar profile bit, you'll need to speak to one of the admins to see if it can be implemented..

I was going to add the mod list to the sig but I couldn't get it all to fit...
Well that was with my html link.

I don't think it can be done in the standard phpBB setup, though it's certainly possible with some relatively minor mods.
I don't know if the mods already exist or not, but I could certainly write it if it was so desired.

Or speak to me (I run a phpBB board elsewhere)

Extra lines can't be added to the profile without major work. This would require re-writing of the profile page and mods/extra fields added to the database which runs the site.

Remember that the database is on aserver in the US and neither Admin nor Admin 2 have ftp access to the server. Very difficult to test the modded database without taking the Forums off-line.

Please bear in mind, too, that phpBB is due to be upgraded to v2.2 from the current v2.0.11 and it will be very different. All in all, probably not worth the effort at the moment, bearing in mind how flaky the forum has been in past months (OK at the moment, though ).

For the time-being, I'd suggest just adding one's bike-type to the "location" field in one's profile. No mods necessary

This sort of information can lead to model discrimination! There should be a law against it!
