Default sv vs svs

i have a blue sv650 to replace my s model as it is still being fixed after that girl drove through the back of me.
so im going to get my new leathers on for the first time to give it a spin tomorrow.
i'll let you all no what i think vs my svs
first impression nice seating position ugly as sin though prefer the sporty look.
anyone struggle with a really stiff steering lock as it took me best part of 15mins to get the bloody thing off today

I think different I wish I'd have bought a sv650n and not the S. I'm really hating the riding style.

I prefer the look of the naked version. think its trying to be sporty witht he front fairing when its not really. everyone to their own though.
the sterring lock may not have been used much so that may casue the stiffness. spray sube lube down there. that'll sort it out

Me too, wish i'd bought the naked but as it was my first bike and i thought the S looked better i got that. Probably my lanky body shape but my wrists ache like hell during and after riding. KTM 660SMC when funds allow...

Following a crash and rebuild I've gone from SVS to streetfighter-esque bike with naked style riding position, found it really weird to start with, feels like I'm going to fall off the back all the time and I do miss 'hugging' the bike but growing to like it. Seems to turn in easier too.

what is the steering lock - left to right like on the N version? on my bike it is pathetically small

also
steveo- Try taking the weight off your wrists a bit by holding the tank between your knees and/or point your elbows outwards a bit more. This worked for me

well 60miles later ive come to my conclusion.
brilliant bike to ride.i dont know what the gearing differences are but the N model felt more zippy from the lights a couple of light front end moments.
i love the sit up and ride not one ache at all!!!! however the windblast nearly took my lid of beyond 80mph.
The handling i was a bit unsure of i never really pushed it as it isnt my bike they had brand new tyres on and it was my 1st go back on a bike after my accident.
i wouldnt swap my s model though when i was walking back to it after stopping for a while it didnt have that sex appeal that the s model gives me(sad i know)
i hated the mirrors they where a pain to adjust comparing to the s model.
But generally speaking i had a big grin on my face when riding which is something i couldnt forsee happening again and it felt good.
also my leathers gaped at the neck due to the sit up and ride style but on the s it sits nice on the back of the neck due to the slight lean.
I dont know about all your naked bikes but do they all beep on the indicators to remind you that they are on,i thought this was a good idea when you do forget but when you are sitting there at the lights for a while i felt a plonker soiunding like a bus reversing.
overall it opened my eyes to what a good engine it has
i dont know but i think it gave me **** ache a bit more though as my weight was more on my seat.which was hard!

overall though what a good bike for anyone who likes a road blasts or needs a good bike to blast through towns as well as counrty with rare motorway it is excellent.
