Default Is it just my side stand thats crap???

Well I have thought this since getting the bike. The side stand is rubbish, I am never confident putting the bike on the stand and always check and treble check it before I walk away. The stand arm seems very vertical and I always think that the slightest forward movement (wind) may flick the stand up leaving the bike to fall over

Is it just mine?

Can it be fixed somehow?

After pulling my shoulder out of it's socket trying to catch the bike at lunch time has only made me worry about it even more (note: must learn to flick the stand all the way down )

My side stand goes quite far, and when leaning on the bike it's definately not vertical and takes a bit to get it to move (tried - I don't trust side stands either)

Good rule of thumb is make sure your bike is always either on the flat or pointing uphil, and make leave the bike in gear if you really want to stop it from moving.

Good luck

Stu

I've not had any problems. If you're that worried about the bike rolling off the stand, keep it in gear when parking

No. me too.

The solution (partialy) is to park the bike in gear, and roll it forward taking up the chain slack.

Glad I'm not the only one then, maybe it's the only the later bikes that suffer.

Good idea on the chain slack too

when you put the stand down, make sure you give it a good kick to make really sure it is down and locked
