Default The TankSlapper

Hey,

I was just curious if anyone has had any experience with this? No... not the uncontrollable action, the product. The TankSlapper is a clear protective coating that is put on three places on your tank, the left and right knee indentations and the rear of the tank. You can read more about it here. I want some protection on my tank from the zipper on my jacket and pants and so on... and tank protectors are not my cup of tea. So I think this might be for me... Thanks,

Mitch

I have it and I like it

But it's not quite as invisible as it seems on the pictures.
Only downside is that I somehow rubbed some dirt on the knee pieces and it's a little hard to clean. On a yellow tank it's a little too visible.
But if I can't get it cleaned I'll buy a new one though...

The big advantage is that it protects a very large area, yet it doesn't change the look of the tank

Sounds good- I find where the normal tank pad goes isn't the "problem area" on mine- however the leg area is. This'd be ideal. LMK if you get one/if it's good.

Cheers.

I have a bad enough problem sticking a 'normal' tank pad on... I'd have a nightmare with that... I'll stick to my tank cover

Could you please take some picture of yours for me? Regular distance and some close ups?

So the vinyl material is not so easy clean as they claim?

Maybe clearer on the silver?

What I am looking for... I think if I went with a tank pad it would be clear anyways...

Installation was easy enough? How do the peice fit the tank? Overall good product then uthaug? Essay Over

You apply with water Cloggsy! You can always start over and do it again!

Unfortunately pictures can't really capture the Tankslapper, but here goes:
(best pictures I have so far. Bike's in storage until March)

Maybe I just need some special vinyl cleaning product.
I admit, I've only tried with regular dish wasing soap

Maybe clearer on the silver?
I meant the dirty part was too visible.
Guess that would be the same on silver.

Yes, use soapy water and a small squegee (?)
Tiny air pockets may appear. If it bothers you, just take it off and try again.
Pieces fit good. The big piece for the middle part is maybe i little too tall as it reaches the point where the tank bulges up in the middle. But a little extra effort makes it stick.

Like I said before: I like it and I would buy it again

BTW, a "bonus feature" is that it gets easier to grab the tank with your knees as the rubber is less slick than the painted tank surface
