THIS IS COPIED FROM ANOTHER FORUM I READ.

ages ago i told you all the story of crashing me bandit..

head on with a refridgerated van..miracle escape without a scratch...

anyway 3/4 months later i get a notice from the procurater fiscal that `im gonna get charged with dangerous driving

brilliant i nearly die coz of an accident and the fukin van drivers giving a different story...the police werent bothered at the time

` no ones hurt its an accident let the insurance sort it`

anyway the case is nxt month and today i have been to the solicitors....
ok so we have the staements here, we need your friends staetment asap, oh and the police report.
the old bill took the bike for a check over.....

and this is the thing thats really ****ed me off,
it says here the steering is fine so no faults on the bike but,,,,,
they say `THAT THE STYLE AND APPEARANCE OF THE BIKE WOULD SUGGEST AN AGGRESIVE RIDER !!!!!!

i mean think about it for a second, the police have said in a report that my bike...standard bandit 12 apart from straight bars, SUGGEST an AGGRESIVE RIDER.

needless to say the solicitor isnt impressed and said he will contact the pc for an explanation, but if they are allowed to put that in a report and it makes it to court.......well it makes you wonder

It's Policemen like that, who are made to look utter fools and idiots in court. Statements such as that, totally and utterly prejudice their cases, and could give grounds for it to be dismissed.

I suppose if you'd been riding a Harley, you'd appear to be a Hell's Angel and they could pull you under SUS laws. Or, if you're on a Hayabusa you must be speeding so much as to constitute dangeorus driving, if you're on a Trail bike, you must be a tresspasser, etc.

I'm definately not a police-hater (just wrote a congratulatory letter to my local lot, less than an hour ago!), but they really shoot themselves in the foot when it comes to winning the public over with things like this.

I wonder if you get things like, "Style and appearence of the Nova suggest rider was stoned and distracted by pounding drum and bass."

p.s friend had an off of his gsxr400 asian taxi driver reverse off the PATHWAY onto the road at a rate of notts not looking friend coming down road swerved to miss car ended up decking it sprained rist snapped clip on and clutch split engine casing and scratched fairings etc etc

police said :

"well mr goth im afraid we cant do any thing as its not a proper rta no 2 vehicles have combined there for cant do any thing"

"u what? iv cased loadsa damage wich is gonna cost a fortune to repair and take ages to get hold of (import bikes
