Default Assen anyone?

hi chaps

great forum guys. new to the sv world. traded in my beloved prilia 125 for a black k4 sv650s with 900 on the clock. 3 weeks and 1000 miles later am loving it. thought the 125 would never be beaten for fun but how wong can u be? still miss the rs though.
Then i dropped the bugger in my garage. (sidestand not properley down)
Anyway lucky only indicator and clutch lever broke so only £50 gets it back to new
For the lever do i just tke the old one off and just slap the new one in cos that sounds too easy?

also i am planning a pilgrimage to assen for moto gp weekend cos i love backache. would anyone else be intersted? anyone been before?

How are you travelling to Assen (as in which route...) If you are coming around Amsterdam I'd love to take a ride there (depending on when it is and how much tickets are - buying a house in 7 days...

thanx u lot

well i reckon ferry from kingston upon hull to rotterdam up round the dam and up to assen. looking at a rubbish map i see theres a few routes that could be taken. gonna invest in a decent european roadmap tomorrow as hopefully it will be well used. Will let u know the outcome and sort some dates out.
Any of u guys know the best route?

Could possibly do the Dover-Calais route and then up through France and Belgium or Harwich to Hook of Holland? Otherwise (and this is a long ride for us southerners...) via Newcastle?

Harwich to the Hook is the shortest route for you suvverners innit

Newcastle is certainly the longest as the ferry goes to Norway :P

Bobby Dazzler, you are in the catchment area of the men in green tights

Yep it is if you live in the Souf . But they are merely suggestions. I'm not too phased by the route as it would (finances allowing) be my first trip to the continent on less than 4 wheels.

I know Newcastle's a long way out for this trip but if any Northeners are planning on taking their bike to Europe you could do worse than trying these guys www.motorsport-travel.com . They can arrange sailings from most UK ports but I found them about £120 cheaper than sailing from Hull. I priced a trip yesterday, from Hull to Zeebrugge was about £276 but through Motorsport Travel a trip from Newcastle to Amsterdam was about £155. Big saving even if it's a bit more travelling.
