Default Want a ZX6R

Not had SV long but I like stunting on sports bikes so have made my KTM a track only bike instead of messing around bkie and decided that when I have paid for my car, passed test etc that I'm going to look at getting a ZX6r. Hopefully a J1 model is they go for REALLY cheap especially lightly damaged ones, i.e. fairings - which doesn't matter for messing about on anyway!!

Anyone got a 6r, are they good for wheelying etc??

Not going to be for a while yet, but I don't want to blow the SV up by wheelying it too much etc like I did the KTM

Glad you got the CCM working at last! I hope you find it a lot better now too

Hey there is a track day on May 17th and it's not far from you... thought about going?? it will be good fun and I'll hopefully be there on a SMR 580 race bike so you can watch me fall off a few times

The ZX6R is a want thing at the minute, got too much stuff to spend out on to go changing just now and I'm not "desperate" as still enjoying the SV.. I just don't want to kill it

I had it for 8000 miles and didnt kill it, so dobt you coul.......scrap that wont tempt fate!

yeah it had the wrong exhaust on it, so the bike coulldnt physically exhaust, needless to say it wouldnt run,
put the right exhaust back on it, now it runs better, still needs to go on a dyno, but that will wait till me wallet aint quite so bent!

REALLY???

Wow! I borrowed a mate's J1 a few years ago when my SV was off the road. My SVSX had had some suspension work (raised rear ride height, ohlins springs, etc) and felt very similar to LeeSimons old K3 SV (hence the comparison) and i have to say that the riding position is almost identical on a J1 ZX6 to my old modified SVSX a K3/4/5 SVS. The Kwak's power delivery is very linear (like an SV) and is not peaky, like your usual 600, either!!??!! oh, and did i mention it goes faster too...

each to their own...

Horses for courses.
Like ive said before, there are too many poseurs who over estimate their abilities to use a bike to its full potential.
I have no desire to take a bike on the track and unless you do, a supersports is a bit of a waste of time on crappy South East roads. Especially if you intend on wearing garish leather baby gro suits!

Im not denying that the ZX6r is the better bike, just not for what I and a lot of people need.

Yea I see what you mean Same way though that the SV isnt the better bike for what I use it for.. I thoght I wanted a bike to commute but I realised I'm getting a car in a few weeks time so all will be left is a sports bike for stunting and stunting only really...!

I had a J1 for three years, great bike and you are right should be cheap now as they are unfashionable. Not really a town bike though and check headraces and wheel suspension bearings, they need grease.
