If the sun is shining in france you can ring william hill and put bets on there being a control in France, notmally around the next corner
 Dont be fooled by the smile on the nice moto gendarmes faces, The bike coppers are extremely well trained in all things iffy :P There is an increase in local controls around the ports of cherbourg and caen at the moment. The polise mans favorite saying was Neuf Cent Francs Monsieur, now it is only 90 euro |

The Gendarmes set up shop on a roundabout or a junction and stop everything, sometimes they will have a hidden camera down the road, or they just do paperwork checks.
If there is a speed camera, every man and his dog will flash you as a warning |
