That is very high, I would tell them where to shove it. It should be no more than 30 quid for parts (and even then that's extortion).

Mine was done last Friday and cost £36.00 which I thought was dear.
I also ordered a Pyramid Fender extender and that cost £23.00, don't know if that was reasonable or not?

I also needed a pop on clip, that got broke when I was fitting the Fender Eliminator (the small black jobby's).
I had already paid by credit card for the service and the young lad took my card again and charged it for the 2 clips that I took at £1.33 each.

Come on! what ever happened to the "there you go mate, no charge".

Exactly!
I would have asked, but it was a niceish day and I wanted to get back on my SV after the Bandit I was given as a courtesy bike.

If you're worried about £40 for a service, you're gonna have a breakdown when you see the price of a 4k service

Only £33 here. Mind you, the managed to neglect to re-torque the gear change, so it fell off 200 miles later.

Are we talking about the 600 mile first service? If so thats extortion. You are sold the bike on the basis of a free (labour)first service where the only parts that you need to pay for are oil and filter.Work it out yourself, and 30 notes more than covers it.Challenge the dealer on this and if you dont get anywhere name and shame on here, and never go back there.
