Default What size chain can you fit under the pillion?

So, if you take everything (ie the little toolkit) out of the underseat pillion storage on the SV650 ('99), can you get the six foot Krypto chain into that space? Or nowhere close? I notice that there are sort of two little pods on either side of the storage space there, that the two ends of the chain can be sort of lowered into, and when that fills up can you coil the remainder of the chain below the seat?
I managed to fit 6 foot of foam pipe insulator fairly handily in there... but chain is another story...
Thanks,
Philip.
(Oh yeah, so this is FP for me here, but I have lurked about a while, and am well impressed with the caliber of advice, so... I thought I would say thanks, and ehh, nice one I suppose. Seriously, this is a quality resource. )

I've carried a 4ft chain and lock under the seat with a disk lock and the tool kit still in place so it might fit.

Keep your chain in a tough plastic bag. I've heard horror stories of them working their way out of the smallest gap, then down onto wheel and sprockets. Not pleasant

I dare not keep anything heavy under my seat, as the Alarm and Chain Oiler are there.

the space is quite diffrent for the curvey and pointy, also some people seem to have the alarm mounted in there instead of bolted to the side of the subframe to save space. I also have the scottoiler mounted behind the side plastic next to the gear lever.

My Scottoiler sits under my seat hump, so once I've got my tool kit & my baffle, spanner & screwdriver in there (to re-fit the baffle, just in case I get stopped by the law ) then thats it

Same!

But the space down there on the K4 is so limited anyway

In reply to your post...it depends on how much discomfort your pillion can actually deal with...
