Bugger... had to happen
![]() Just got back from hospital Had a phone call off the garage to say my part had arrived to fix the last load of damage not caused by me... Going up and over the rhigos mountain (south wales bunch know this road) Theres a rally on, so the sheep are a bit jumpy.. well, one got jumpy on the road infront of me ![]() feck... Im on my side going down the road..... tumble a few times. anything that sticks off the left side is now a tad worn. or broken My kit is ruined... but it did its job.. I got away with a bruised knee grazed elbow, bruised finger, and one of my fingers was grazed to the bone ![]() So Im sitting here.. typing slowly and painfully... sad thing is Im TPFT.. So I gotta fork this one out myself.... not likely to make the annual ride out now ![]() It could have been worse, as I was taking my time cos I knew the sheep were about.... If I were going any faster, i would have hit the sheep.. and worse things would have followed. Take care.. |

Blimey! Not a lot of fun eh? Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit rough but glad you're more or less okay. Bummer about the bike though, hope you get it (and yourself) sorted ASAP.

Sorry to hear of your off, Gareth. Glad you are not seriously hurt.
These Welsh sheep are a real nuisance. One would really expect to have fences along the road. When we went out on the rideout of 23 April I was thinking about these sheep all the time, especially when we were riding through fog. I think now that riding in a large group might actually be safer as there is more noise to frighten the sheep away from the road. Hope you get your bike sorted in the near future. |

not likely.. they just roam free around here.. as professor will tell you, they just roam around.. 1000 sheep road aint called that for nothing.. you dont tend to see them as much over the Rhigos, but as theres a rally on, they are all over the place.... why infront of me.. I hope it ends up on someones plate sooner rather than later....
Got more pain kicking in now.... first accident and all that.. sure it will hurt more tomorrow! Cheers lads! |

So sorry about this G - but glad you're in one piece (more or less). Don't want to be the harbinger of doom or anything, but it's going to hurt a lot more tomorrow
![]() For the benefit of others, "The Golden Rules of Riding Through Sheep": 1. If they've got their heads down and are eating then all is well 2. If they're looking around expect them to go in any direction 3. If you come across one in the road and cannot stop, aim for its **** because they never move backwards. Hope the bike's not as bad as you think. and there's still 2 weeks before the rideout - time enough to get it fixed. At least you have enough excuses to sit down with your feet up, cheering Man Utd on the box this afternoon ![]() |
