Default Few parts questions, SV650S (K1-K2)

Pickup the "bitch" this weekend, but already the mods are being looked at. Although a new can is deffo on the cards, i need to sort out the other bits first.

The bike has got a full lower fairing.

Crash stops - I've seen that the Suzuki ones are morelike play dough, can anyone advise the best quality ones to go for?

Front lower mudguard, again, not sure if i'd need this as much as it has the fairing kit, but i know in bad weather it can fowl the front plugs. As the bike will be used in ALL weather, i should go for one. Again, best one to go for?

Tank cover, until i can get all my proper leathers, all the gear I have at the moment is good enough. Its one of the goretex type jacket, metal button poppers etc, this means that the tank may get scratched up which i really dont want. They look very gay, but, i do really need it to protect the bike. I'd like to go for something like the below, or maybe the full tank cover? Same question really, best one to go for, company to get from etc..

I think i'll leave the tailpipe post till another day, when the money, well, when i've got some again..

Thanks

If you want decent protection of the tank, then the baglux cover is very good. They're not cheap, but bargains can often be found on eBay.

Dr Squid recommends the JHS bungs, because the bolt goes all the way through the bung, making them more secure. The new RandG ones also have this, though I haven't heard any crash reports on those yet.

A fender extender might be a good idea. If nothing else it will make cleaning easier. By all accounts the curvy ones suffered from the front plug getting water logged more than the pointy ones do. A blob of grease around a firmly pushed down HT cap should be very effective. That's all I did and I've never had the problem.

Grease on the cap is better than a fender extender, if you ask me...

As far as bungs, the new R&G ones will work without modifying your lower fairings if that's important to you- I've got a set fitted and they stood up fine to a very, very slow drop a couple of weeks ago. The old ones weren't so good, but never let me down. Otherwise get the JHS ones or Bikesliders I reckon.

Baglux cover's excellent- you'll not get better protection and it's practical too if you get one of their bags. Not cheap, mind, but you can't have everything.

Aye, i dont really want to cut anything about.

So save on the extender and fill the gap with some nice gunky grease..
