Default seat ajustment

Hi all,
this fine morning i took my old faithful honda cb1 to a bike shop and traded it in for one of these new fangled v twin thingys called an sv650s k5.
So any how i watched as the guy wheeled away my baby and brought out this shiney blue awsome looking machine, As hes explaining away stuff that i wasnt taking much notice of as i was itching to get on it ,the only thing i did here was keep around 4 to 5k while you run it in, This brought my excitement level down. Any how the time came to jump on imagine the expression on my face when i realised i could hardly reach the floor as im only 5ft 2in,So what i need guys is if any of you live around the swansea area and you know som1 that can cut my seat down a bit for me then maybe i can enjoy my new bike the way i should without worrying about the time when i put my foot down and find som1 nicked the tarmac.

Cutting some foam out of the seat may not be enough. (PM Grinch, as he has had it done).

You may need to lower the whole bike. Longer dogbones on the rear suspension linkage and dropping the forks through the yokes. (PM e.d., as she has had this done).

Your dealer can do the dogbone and forks thing. Flutter your eyelashes at them and they might do you a deal.

You should be OK with the seat sculpted a bit. I'm probably about your height and I ended up cutting foam out of the seat to make life easier. I've now gone one step further and got rid of the sv but that's a bit drastic Enjoy your new bike

Hi Pip,

It might not get you as low as you need, but Suzuki do a seat which is 10mm lower than standard for £28. It's a start and although I can get the balls of my feet down on standard machines, I'm going to get one when I order my SV.

Hope this help.

Garry.
