Default Restricting and details???

Hi,

I am still looking at the SV(unfaired) however was a bit put off today by a dealer. I was wondering what top speeds people can get from there restricted(33bhp) SV and what price you got the restrictor for?

Many Thanks
Mark

115 (indicated) top, 100 (indicated) average top on restricted, that was on a private road BTW, on public roads the bike struggles to go over the speed limits.

that was on an 02' curvey faired

Restrictor for my 04 SV was £140. It was faired and I never saw more than 103mph indicated on the clock.

It's not so bad! I had a restricted ER5 for 18 months and I was always pushing her as hard as I could. The SV, even when restricted is a far better bike - suspension, acceleration, etc. will toast a lot of bikes. Plus it depends on what you do with it and how you use it. On a track it'll get blown away. In town and keeping close to the limits it doesn't lose out at all, so long as it's ridden skilfully. Plus you'll get a chance to hone your riding skills to account for the lower power, rather than relying on brute power to make progress. That 2 years will be over in no time
