first of all hello to everybody in this great forum, i've been reading around for a week or so and today i decided to register. I have a fazer 600 for about a year but i really don't think that IL4's are for me, not this one anyway (power band:7000-14000rpm

I've not noticed any power hole in my K5 SV. It really starts pulling from 5000 rpm and then really takes off from about 7000. The feel of it pretty much matches the dyno curves I've seen.

The Dl650 is a fantastic bike, i would have one if it wasnt so pig ugly. It has the same basic set up of engine, suspension etc, so if you liked that, then you will like the SV.
There is a slight dip in the rev range, this is due to the bike having to pass emmisons tests around the world. It can be removed using a slip on(Well, a race can of some sort, it needs to be cut off) and without programming. However, to get the best form the can, you can either add a power commander, or over here its best to have the current ecu programmed using whats called a Yoshi box(i believe) Any of the 2 will see you smile. As for conering, the sv can be sorted by raising the back end up a little using shorter suspension links, and sorting the front out with some springs and oil replacement. Or if you have the money, chuck on an aftermarket shock etc. All this said, i really do like the current Fazer styling. Just hope that they do the same to the Thou, then i think it may be my next bike. Welcome to the board by the way ![]() |

great, thanks for the info about the DL being similar to the sv. I'm sure the fazer thou will be a great bike with a great engine but my 600 desperatelly needed 5mm lowering in front, ohlins front springs and one tooth less front sprocket and still...i don't like it

The engine's a little different, the DL and SV have different cams. Sv's tuned more for power, Dl for midrange.

just to reinforce, my sk3 has no such power hole anywhere at all. Never heard any other reports of one either.
