I'm thinking of cranking my bike back up to its normal height (I dropped it about 15mm after I did my leg in) but it's already leaning like a chopper on the sidestand, and that's giving me problems standing it up from parked sometimes! I'm so feeble... Anyway, I've temporarily taped a 20mm bit of wood to the underneath of the stand which is helping, but if I jack the rear back up I'd need even more height under there and it'd just look daft. Anyone had a sidestand lengthened or bent to give less lean?

Not lengthened one, have cut a bit off and welded the foot back on though.
The stand is mainly in compression, so as long as you can find a suitable bit of tube, making it a dab longer should be no great effort to anyone with welding equipment.

Cheers. Guess I'll get the spare chopped up at the same time as I get my old subframe unbent!

could your stand have been bent outwards at all?
mines lowered and doesn't really lean far enough anymore - when it was normal height it was fine tho...... |

Could well have been... But I don't think so. The old one had loads of play in it so I replaced it but this one seems pretty much tpical of the breed. I've got the rear up a fair bit mind...
