Default Finally got to see what's left of my bike

So this is what happens when your bike gets hit by two vans and then hits the central reservation at 70mph or so. Plus it's a good advert for why it's best to fall off it whilst unconscious shortly before it hits said central reservation.

Pretty big shock to see so much damage, seeing as I pretty much walked away from it. I was walking along looking for the yellow bikes and when I saw it I just stopped and stared. Couldn't believe it was mine

On the plus side the rear hugger was fine, and got the tax off. Couldn't get to the lock as it was mangled into thw bodywork. And I thought I'd leave the R&G bungs... don't think one of them looks up to being reused.

And it took them 3 weeks to decide that it was a write off.

That is pretty shocking

Just looking at the front wheel, the disc is broken off and a big chunk out of the wheel rim.

You were very lucky to walk away from it.

Considering your description of the accident, the bike came off surprisingly well. Still a shock to see a bike in such a state, though.

They're still sorting it all out. Guy in the right hand lane smacked his signal on and swerved into the side of me... at least one of the car drivers behind has handed in his witness statement and puts the blame 100% on the other guy, saying he clearly didn't use mirrors or make any sort of check... so it's looking like it's a good, tight, non-faulter. I wasn't overtaking or filtering or anything like that at the time, just in my own lane making my own progress. This stuff takes ages to sort. Had a minor one at xmas time and that took 5 months to fix, so I'd figure this one ought to be sorted by the end of this year.
