Default Removing front mudguard to fit extenda

got a fenda extenda for the winter weather.
looking at fitting it, i have to drill pilot holes.
i dont like the small gap between tyre and guard, therefore want to fit it off the bike...
how easy is it to remove the front guard?

p.s. sorry if its really obvious, but i havent REALLY looked...

Easy peasy

Unscrew the bolts that hold it on - you need to look at the inside of the forks to see the bolts if you follow me, ie. through the wheel

Drill a hole through the fender extender that is the correct size for the screw to pass through, and then drill a smaller hole through the mudguard so that the screw thread has something to bite into

Put a bit of wood between the the guard and the tyre, then you won't need to remove it.

Didn't screw mine to the front mudguard, simply araldited it. I had heard stories of cracks for the screw holes and did not want protruding screws

Scrub up the underside of the mudguard and the top surface of the extenda. Apply araldite and follow instructions, clamped both sides of mudguard and applied weight in the centre of the joint and waited a few hours then refitted.

Has survived 8000 miles and was still solid last time I checked.

Cloggsy also did that trick, using Black Sticky Silastic stuff.
Look's alot better than drilled holes and screw's... As I've got it on my bike now.

Try a low powered battery drill on a low speed setting and take it easy. Only took me 2 mins to drill the holes. It looked like it would be more risky of going into the tyre than it really was... when the drill breaks through there's loads more space before you'd hit the tyre.

Or take the front fender off as it's only 2 bolts @ the front outside and 2 @ the back inside.
Also less awkward than being on the bike.
