Default New game - "nodding"

I forgot how miserable everyone in London is - hardly anyone nods there... and it's less common during the week outside of London too. So I've decided to start a new game: Nodding.

1) You nod, they don't: They feel guilty. You win.
2) You nod, they nod back: everyone wins.
3) You nod at the scooter chav/pizza guy: they nearly fall off their bike in shock, or else nod back and you risk falling off your bike in shock. Tricky one.

Let the nodding commence!

its not about being miserable in London. Its about:

1. you'll be impersonating the Churchill dog if you did
2. theres just too many hazzards - scooters, vans, cyclists, peds, pot holes, gravel, lights etc to really take your concentration away and nod

I nod at anyone though outside the M25

There are times when it's just me and one other biker and still nobody nods, at least up until now. I can understand not nodding when there's something else that has your attention, just like I can understand only nodding at the first rider when a group of 10 go past. It seems that because of that, nobody nods even when they easily could. I'll see how I get on...

When I was up in Scotland a few years back, people would take a hand off the bars and wave, nod, flash lights, sound horns... and not because there were police ahead, just because they were happy and friendly. Probably a lot to do with being out for fun on good roads, in good weather.

I guess what we have on the bikes is not so different to what it's like on the trains, etc. - everyone ignoring everyone else - if figure if I can get at least one nod back a week I'll feel pleased.

I nod and also did when I was a pillion BUT after being on the bike and then getting into the car, you feel a bit silly driving the car and nodding to bikers.....maybe some thought that I had an affliction or summat.

In scotland just about everyone nods or waves. and if it's someone you know then all hell brakes loose! both hands come up for a wave and a nod well not quite... but we are a friendly bunch. when i went down to bournemouth the other week it was just shockingly bad. no one would nod! if you started talking to another biker though they were still realy friendly.
