Apparantly under the pillion seat is the "Rear subframe" and around there somehwere are the lugs???
The reason I ask is because the scottoiler touring kit is fitted to the snow plough, and scottoiler reckon that if it's fitted to it, the subframe lugs cannot take the weight of the HCR tank.
Long story - cut short mate, sorry!

Hope that helps?

True, it's the frame of tubes and brackets that holds the rear seat and body work.

A lug is a protrusion of some sort, commonly with a hole in it for a bolt or similar.

Ah, now we gettin' somewhere.

I think that the problem is that the rear plastic bit, often referred to as the 'snow-shovel', is not capable of supporting the weight, not that the mountings - the lugs I think you're talking about - on the subframe aren't up to it, they're plenty strong enough.

If you have a Scotty, do not fit an HCR behind the number plate of a Pointy. Scottoiler produce an alternative larger than standard reservoir, called the lube tube, which is a flexible sausage shaped plastic tube that you can squeeze under the bodywork somewhere on bikes that aren't suitable for fitting with the HCR.
