Default NEC - what did you think?

Well it was the first time I have been to any kind of bike "show" and I came away exhausted! Didnt really have enough time in one day to take it all in! All the major manufacturer stands were just too full of people and OMG did you see the Triumph ZX636R... I mean 675...

Made a few purchases and sat on as many of the bikes I would consider in the future as I could - still couldnt think of anything that was a definite next bike for me though!

I was quite impressed and am looking forward to the Ally Pally show in the New Year...

I went Ally Pally this year, and went to the NEC last week. From those experiences, I won't be going to the Ally Pally show again.

It was a total waste of time - no one was doing any decent deals, there were too many people, and too many stands. If you thought the NEC was tiring, then AP will send you to sleep.

Just my experience of course.

Due to the distance to the show, the damn heathrow road works, traffic jams on the M42 and **** poor parking arrangements at the show - dispite leaving home at 7:45, we didn't get in untill 1:15ish Could have done with some more time there really.

As for the show its self I enjoyed it. If you go simply for bargin hunting and don't find what you're looking for of course you'll be disapointed. If you treat it as a day out for looking at shiney bikes and impulse buys, it's good fun

I was a little disappointed that there were a few bike manufacturers missing. It didn't feel as big as previous years either, but it was still a good day.

Got some good bargains although some stands weren't offering any discount whatsoever, even on the last day of the show.

Overall I would give it a though, nice long day full of bikes, biking, bits and more bikes!!!

It was quite good, shame Aprillia weren’t there. The misses really liked the new Suzuki GSR600 as it was one of the few bikes she could touch the floor on both sides. I still prefer the SV's styling but I would like that swingarm on my bike.

It was the first time I had been to a show too and I enjoyed it but it was not what I was expecting.

There were some lovely models for 2006 and some lovely models conceived around the early 80's which brightened up the atmosphere. I enjoyed the manufacturers stands loads but was very disappointed by the host of stalls selling overpriced tat.

I was expecting deals on quality biking gear and deonstrations of new accessories / clothing etc but almost everything available was either complete rubbish or could be found cheaper on the internet.

Again, just my thoughts but if these traders brought better quality and more value priced goods to the show they would sell a lot more and get repeat business.

Overall I enjoyed it though and will go again,
Matt

Damn Triumph and their Jedi mind tricks. Last year I ended up buying my 955i, this year my father inlaw has ordered a Rocket III classic (not available until March)and my brother in law is seriously considering the 675.

Not going next year we're all skint
