Anyone got these in their forks?
Bought a pair on ebay, had them fitted with recommended oil weight and... practically no difference it seems - still get that "thunk" when hitting potholes at speed. Am I expecting too much or are they just not very good? |

IMO hagon are as good as the ohlins equivalent.
Are you running the Hagon recommended oil levels and weight? Or the standard suzuki as i think they differ. as for the "thunk" that isnt to do with the suspension bottoming out. It's something else that needs doing. I did read it on another site once but can't remember where. |

The forks were done professionally so I would assume all in order. I had assumed I would notice a massive difference after the upgrade, but perhaps it's more subtle.
PS my apologies Hagon - perhaps I have done you a disservice! |

I have installed a set of Hagon progressive with the recommended 7.5W oil. Not an enormous difference compared to standard, although there is an improvement, maybe 15-20% stiffer. 10W oil might improve things IMO.

To be honest your not going to get a massive difference regardless of what springs you put in.
What will make the big difference is the amount of oil that is in the forks, what the wieght of the oil is and how long the spacers are. These are the things that will make the noticable difference. Hope this helps. |

What weight of springs? If they're just an Ebay lot they could easily be the same stiffness as standard, Hagon do a range. Likewise, what weight of oil?

"Progressive fork springs by Hagon for sv650 1999-2003 all models. These springs offer better handling than the standard ones with better rebound and compression ratio.Used but in good working order.Hagon recomend a 15 grade fork oil used with an air gap of 140mm. " is how they were described on ebay (I've got a 99 model).
When the bike gets MOTd I might ask the garage to have another little fiddle - Any hints/tips on what would help are much appreciated! |

When I changed my springs I still got a 'thunk' when going over potholes - then I discovered it was my magnetic tankbag becoming momentarily airbourne
