Default Licence - part two required?

Q: If you are given a "producer" and have to show licence and insurance etc, will the police station accept the new plastic licence or do you need to (definitely) show the part two too?

I assume that you dont have it then!

I would always err on the side of caution and take both...

Can't say for definite, but I would assume YES, but as I don't know for definite, please feel free to ignore this post.

I hope i never get stopped i lost the card bit about a year ago and only have the paper bit left, and i'm not paying £17 to get it replaced. I'll wait till i move again and get it done for free.

The licence is made up of both parts, so yes you would need to show both.

As has been said before the license is made up of both parts so you need to produce both.

However I've known people pulled over and asked for their licence have produced the card section at the roadside and this has been accepted.

So what have you been pulled for?

After my off the policeman looked at my plastic card only. But for the producer i would expect them to be more arsey.

What did you get caught doing now then?

Sorry to disappoint chaps ( ) but it was simply a discussion I was having with a friend earlier, and I reckoned that you'd likely get away with just the plastic card (otherwise what the hell is is for?) for a producer or it would be fine on it's own if pulled over.
