does anyone know for deffinate if a clutch from an 03 injected sv650 will fit and work in an 02 carb sv650?

nop, plates are diffrent (last i checked)

ok cheers...thats all i needed to know...ooo...well basically the clutch slips and makes an awfull sound when pulling away when cold, just new plates sort this out? and is it easy to do?

The whole clutch basket is different so, assuming it did fit both models which I honestly don't know, it would prove rather more expensive than replacing the bits you really need.

I was just considering the plates alone.
I guess you mean that if you replace the basket & presure plate with a pointy version then it will work? Um, seems rather expensive. But if you are able to source the parts cheeply and suffer the problem that Squid mentioned then may be an idea. Just will have to remember to tell the next buyer that the clutch is diffrent.

I've got a couple of clutches in the garage, from a K1 and 00 I think... I've only checked one, it's in reasonable nick- decent plates, springs are within runout, and the basket is a little worn but not badly... Drop me a PM if you're interested. Cheaper than new plates, though less good (assuming that new plates is all you need of course!)
