ITV now - thalaraki documentary

Programme on ITV now about night life in thalaraki... what a bunch of yobs!

No wonder the Brits have a reputation for being alcohol fuelled idiots.

I can appreciate having a good time, but to invade a town and act like that.. not exactly the embassadors we require is it?

same anywhere brits go en masse i'm afraid.. i wonder if the relaxation of licensing laws was intended to target this group.. i don't know what you can do about it as it's deeply engrained into our yob culture that is prevalent today

Having visited a number of resorts like this, it's not just us Brits; we just go there in greater numbers. Oh, and it's also not very interesting UK TV for the media companies to make programs about a bunch of foreigners who don't speak English

It may not be just the Brits, but i think that cos we do go there, like you say, in larger numbers than most, its us that the reputation gets given too.

You dont really hear of the Germans* or Spanish or French being tarnished as drink swilling lager louts. Its only the Brits.











*ok, so the Germans are infamous for stealing sunbeds.

I don't know, my mate went to the Belgian Grand Prix a few years back and he said a bunch of germans got so smashed they purposely set fire to their caravan for a laugh.............Until the gas canister went up.

As for the french, they wouldn't know how to have a good time if it jumped up and bit them on the ass!

Disagree with you on that one RubberDuck. Yes we visit in greater numbers but we're worse than the others by a long way. There are resorts that are focused on the German or French tourists, and you don't get the same level of drunken idiots fighting / throwing up / damaging property/ mooning / flashing boobs (not too concerned about the last one though :P )

It's just a reflection of the binge drinking culture we have over here, only worse cos they're 'off the leash' for a couple of weeks.

Thats my £0.02 worth anyway.
