Well to me anyway, Brand new one K5 in red waiting for me this week, but WHere do you start? WHich would you add if you only had £200?

Crash bungs and a Scotty. £200 is easily enough for both.
There's no need for new tyres and if you ride the bike then you'll need new ones by the summer, anyway. A gel seat isn't really necessary, since you can make some good improvements over the standard with very cheap bits and a decent staple gun. |

Yup.Bung it up.Being a tight bustid it would annoy me to replace tyres before I had worn them out,and a gel seat I could live without.(I do live without one)Chain oiler is a good idea if you are likely to be less than diligent with your lubing.

Tyres: Supercorsa scrubs - £50
Chain oiler: Loobman - £18 or so. Crash bungs: £80 or there abouts? Might be able to squeeze in a seat with the last £50 ![]() ![]() |

Mmmmmmmmm.........I think the bungs are coming up favourite, and I spose those tyres can do whilst I'm running in, Never heard of supercorsa scrubs, but I'm interested now! Is fitting the bungs a DIY prospect? I assume you just buy them, remove the bubble wrap, and screw them into a waiting hole in the frame? Anyone know of a good supplier SE London?

If you arent planning on doing a huge amount of miles then I would go for a aftermarket Can and some crash bungs. you can get a CCC one off ebay for £110 that leaves £90 for bungs, R & G's work much better than the suzuki ones I think they retail around the £70 for a Pointy SV IIRC.
If you are going to do a lot of miles then get the Scotoiler and bungs like Carsick suggested. If you are a new rider and the SV is your first bike, then the standard Dunlops will do you fine whist you are running the bike in and finding your feet with it. HTH

It's my second SV, 9K on the last one, The scottoiler I had on that one was great to be fair but made a right mess, and I was just being lazy. I travelled to Holland and rode to Scotland in a day once, my backside had to be peeled from the saddle after that and It took me forever to get home because I had to keep stopping because of the ache! THe standard dunlops were dire in comparison to the Z6's I had fitted too, But I spose I should run the dunlops in at least!
How hard would it be for a dunce to fit the CCC? will it scupper my warranty and what about it running lean? |

CCC is easy to fit, I managed to fit my blue flame can OK and I'm a mechanical dunce as well. Cant see how it would effect the warranty, but might be wise to check first.
I got my dealer to fit my bungs as I wanted to make sure it was done properly, I didnt want to find I hadnt done it properly once I had tested them if you know what I mean. I didnt realise it was your 2nd SV, you're right the Z6's are a much better tyre than the dunlops but I think your money would be spent more wisely on the other stuff rather than replacing the tyres.
