diesel spillages

nearly had an off..twice on my way to work today
the roads in the medway area are bad enough as it is,but what with the rain we had yesterday and the slick of diesel on one of the main roads i use every day it was quite an eventful trip what with dodging the massive pot holes and a large river of rainbow coloured liquid.
got to work and was straight onto medway council but it was funny how the woman i spoke to didnt seem interested but soon changed her tune when i threatend them with legal action if anything were to happen to me accident wise.
has any one else had experiance of this mennace or am i just being a whingy old g*!

Which road was that on?

Every single day of the week. I work in Uxbridge and my route to the office is along the bus route. I think it's disgusting the way buses dump diesel all over the road. If I ever come a cropper it won't be too difficult to figure out where to point the finger though.

So that would be the A228 then? Not been down there on the bike in a while...mostly in the car on my way from the office. There is always a bit of diesel around the services at snodland and near the entrance/exit to the quarry...hate it coz you cant normally see it when the roads are dry because of the amount of oil on that road anyway and the roadworks at the M20 isn't helping the road surface either

Ive reporetd roads and seen them get fixed pretty promptly.

I was just out for a ride today (sorry fair weather rider ) and i coudn't belive how much disesel there was on the roads, there was even quite a lot out of town where is dosn't normally get dumped.

The worst place i noramll find are the mini roundabouts outside fuel stations which are terrible in the wet, banbury tesco comes to mind.

i agree with what your saying about riding acording to conditions but like i say its not just diesel thats the problem..the road i use to get to work is filled with pot holes and is in generally very poor condition.
i think its not unfair that being a payer of road tax,insurance premium tax,council tax and just about every other kind of tax that there is to expect a better quality of road and for the council to take notice of what im saying
