Probably not very much help...
But, I do Linux sys admin / apache security / mysql admin / ACEdb admin and that sort of thing.
Coding mainly Perl, (bit of C#/Java/ shell scripting)
A lot of CGI muck unfortunately, backending into MySQL and ACEdb (I used to do nice distrib objs /JSP/SOAP sort of stuf)
Main part of my job is genomics data mineing... which is messy stuff.
I would like to spend more time doing pure Bioinformatic codey things though (as time goes on),

I suppose I am saying... lots of UNIX / Linux sys admin is getting boring. I prefer doing sort of big number crunching genomic data mining. But, I think you have to be clever to be good at this.

Currently in a Desktop Support role, dealing with something like 5500 + PC's, running a mixture of NT4 and XP Pro, finally getting rid of our NT4 servers and going up to server 2003, running Active directory and GPO.

Cheers

Rich
