Default *Santa Pod Day out? MAP ON PAGE 5* Sat 13th May

Now im pretty sure most of you won't be interested unless it has lots of corners, but after reading Ians 0-200mph post and doing a search through the old posts, I found a guy from the US who took his curvey down the 1/4 and got a 12.3 @ 104mph.

Would anyone be up for a general SV meet at Santa pod on a RWYB day? (run what you brung). Prices are about £10 to get in, and £20 odd for unlimited runs.

I like taking my car up the pod, its a bit of fun, but usually we end up chatting, watching other cars run up the strip etc.

Santa Pod is a dragstrip for anyone who isn't sure. Its in the middle of no-where, and on a good summers day, well, imagine lots of fields, no shade, lots of sun, the odd breeze.....

If anyones up for it i'll post the RWYB dates below and if theres enough interest we could make a meet from it?

Any takers. Obviously the actual meet can be more towards the summer.

Well i've had about 6 years experience arranging car stands at shows (up to 60+ Corsas), rolling road days, days out in convoys, meet ups (up to 80+ cars) NOT CRUISES, so if the interest is there this is an eaaaaaassssy task for me

Hell, I could even try to get one of the biking mags interested in doing a review on it if anyone wants. Thats what i've done previously with my car bits. Can't see the bike mags being much different tbh.

But obviously im used to 17-25 year olds bugging to get their cars in a mag so i've just arranged it, but if anyone wants me to try, thats no problem

Santa Pod website

http://www.santapod.co.uk/

RWYB website

http://www.rwyb.co.uk/

Same people, just differnet site, Santa Pod being the race meeting site. We will use the RWYB site as its more relevent to what we would be doing.

tbh, in 6 odd years, i dont think i've ever seen a group/club/website of bikers turn up. Just the odd few, couple on drag bikes testing etc.

Basically, we just need a date decided between everyone, then turn up before 9am odd with your driving license. The follow are all the dates listed.

Yes I'm interested. How about May 13th? While it can't be guaranteed the weather should be just right for me to get a sub 10 second run .

Thats the only issue with a day at Pod, the weather.

Where its a professional track, if it rains, they won't let you on it. The surface has a glue substance to help tyres stick. It really is like an ice rink if it gets damp. They have heaters etc that they put up the track to dry it, but this takes time.

I've arrived at 8.30am before, and not got my first run in till 1pm in the afternoon. Its good to have a look round though.

Im happy to say May 13th as an initial date to get the ball rolling?

If theres enough interest by the end of the week, i'll get a sticky put up.

Whenever i do these days/meets for cars, I always try to take what everyone wants to do so everyone is happy. So the more people and ore input I get, the better I can make the day for all.

If anyone further north fancies a bit of straight-line action, they do open run what you brung at Crail in Fife through the summer... I'd be well up for that myself.
