Hi Guys,
The battery on my K1 curvy is dead and not holding a charge, so i need a replacement. Ive searched and it seems that either this one or this YTX12BS seem to be the options. Can someone let me know ive got it right please? ![]() Thanks a lot, RoB |

I just recently fitted one of the new, higher CCA Yuasas, a YTZ12S. A mite more expensive than standard, about £45 inc delivery IIRC, but it makes a big difference for cold starting. basically, the cold cramping ampoage (amperage?) is the maxiumum current delivery for, funnily enough, cold cranking. The more you deliver, the better your starter works. Going by the sound it seems to turn over roughly 25% faster, which of course makes it catch quicker.
Thee battery's 5mm taller- which was irrelevant for me since I've binned the plastic "fuse box", but might possibly be a problem if you've not. Also a kilo heavier. But it's a true 11ah battery- seems like most of the 12s are actually much lower, the Yuasa 12 is a 9.5 I wouldn't go back... But then, I do a fair few cold starts. for a fair weather machine it's probably overkill.

The YT12A-BS is the standard fitment for a curvy. It's also approx 28mm less tall than a YTX12-BS, so as Northwind suggested, the fuse/relay tray will need relocating or something.
I've just put a cheap YTX9-BS in my curvy, but only time will tell if it's up to it. |

As Northwind says, except if you need a smaller physical size there's a YTZ10S which is quite a bit shorter, but still delivers substantially more current for starting than a stock SV battery (YTZ12S is ideal if it'll fit).
I have a YTZ10S on a Deauville, spins it over brilliantly. |

Hmm, I got the size for the standard Yuasa from their bike finder tool, that's where I got the 5mm over from.
