Default I've been cloned.........

Well, my bike has. I'm away on a business trip and when I rang home last night my wife said Somerset police had called and said that a blue SV650S with my number plate on it had been illegally riding around there. First thing my wife did was check that my bike was still in the garage, and it was (phew). They then said it was a case of cloning of my registration.

I've never posted pics without blanking out the plate (at least I don't think I have) so I wonder where they got the info from. Now I'm just waiting for any NIP's to roll in. Fortunately Somerset police said just give them a call if I get any and they will sort it.

So watch out - there's a cloner about. Don't put anything out there that links the bike's model and colour with the reg.

Cheers. Keith

Actually, I had the plate nicked off the 'Blade about 6 weeks ago, I reported it to the police, but I'm waiting for that NIP to come through the door....

Default Cloned..

Think I've been cloned too, Mrs Goon's friend saw me chatting up some young lovely the other night while I was at home reading a book. Outragous!

..but seriously, someone had lifted the cover of my bike the other day just above the number plate. Not sure whether to report it, might just be paranoid?

I have never been sure about this cloning lark from the internet or pictures.

What is to stop some scumbag just making a note of your number as you ride past.

When I worked in a garage we managed to register 2 cars with the same number, same colour and model. We only found out 3 years later when one was in for MOT :P

Guy at work got himself arrested for dangerous driving, swore he knew nothing, two weeks later the nips started coming, then arested again for failing to stop after an accident.

What accident the car is in the garage where is the damage. Whilst waiting for his day in court, The ploice arrive to tell his wife that he had been injured in another accident. Well who is lying next to her in bed, and why is the car still perfect in the garage.

Finally they believe him.

Indeed, Karma has a way of sorting things out, its sometimes a little slow but it all balances out in the end.

Cloning is becoming a serious problem, not helped by the governments intent on automated driving standards enforcement (speed cameras etc).

My advice is to make sure there is something non standard about your bikes rear and front ends so that you have a chance of proving pics are not you.
