PM "Uthaug", he has a lovely example. It can be done, and by all accounts it's surprisingly easy too.

More or less a straight 'bolt on'. You will need the complete front end. All you'll be able to use form your SV is your switch gear and clutch perch/lever.

These models will fit straight on

GSXR750 Y-K5
GSXR600 K4-K5
GSXR1000 K1-K5

Being a naked you then have to think about mounting the handlebars , clocks and head light. Not that that is a biggie.

Cheers
Ben

NB General consensus seems to that the 600 and 750 are better as standard

Used to be, but there's a kit you can get these days from the states, costs about £40 IIRC, and makes it dead simple. Or on a carbed bike, you can put it on the rear axle, I did it that way but tbh I wouldn't now, with the new kits.

I don't have the contact details though, but Dirty Dog might

Might as well make my PM to Ben public, in case others are searching for the info:

..., you need the following:

Fork legs (that's a no-brainer)
Triples with steering stem (yokes if you like)
Clip-ons
Front rim
Front axle
Brake calipers

These GSX-R parts fit straight on and are pretty much interchangeable, as long as you read below:
2001-2005 600cc - 2004-2005 have radial brakes
2000-2005 750cc - 2004-2005 have radial brakes
2001-2004 1000cc - 2003-2004 have radial brakes

Advice:
Get fork legs in a matching pair (model/year wise), the Showas on the 600/750 are supposedly better valved in stock form.

Radial fork legs will off course require radial brake calipers.

Get triples in a matching pair. Because offset varies between models.

Clip-ons, in theory the all fit, get a matching pair because they are a little different ergonomics-wise.
Also older clip-ons use a locator screw that screws into the upper triple. Newer clip-ons use a tab. I don't know exactly when they changed, but maybe it follows the radial brakes.

You will need to relocate the speedosensor which is on the 650's front wheel.
One method is described here: http://people.tamu.edu/~redaggie03/S...o%20Healer.htm
That's the one I did.
Alternative is a kit from www.svraceshop.com, found in their online shop.

You can also use the following from an SV1000:
Rim, same as GSX-R
Front axle, same again
Front brake discs, if you use a radial brake fork with 5 mm spacers on the calipers.
Brake calipers, if fitting a non-radial fork

That's most of it.

Forgot to write it, but of course brake discs are needed as well.

They're all the same: 320 mm for non-radial, 300 mm for radial.
and the SV1000's 310 mm can be used on a radial fork with 5 mm spacers on the calipers.
