Default K6 SV650 - what's the red like?

Hi, (first post!)

I'm looking at the SV650 as a new commuter/funner after getting rid of my tired gpz500. The 0% deal is very tempting, esp with discount too. I'm not that fond of the blue and wondered what the red is like.

They have a bandit at my local dealer in red which looks similar to the website pic of the SV. It's a metallic red which I quite like. However theres another new bandito with flat red paintwork. Does anyone know if the red SV this year is metallic or flat?

Also, the belly looks VERY exposed, are the downpipes stainless? Are there any weak points?

Thanks

Hi matey! The red is a nice colour,as it's a pearl/metallic. Havn't seen one in the sun,but I'd imagine it would look a bit 'pinkish' as the metal-flake picks up the light, but I have to say,as they have dropped the black option,(Which I have) I'd probably get a red one if I was buying now.
Go see one before you buy though,Where abouts are you?

WRONG!!!! The one I've seen is a K6,and it IS metallic/pearl. It's quite nice! That was at Premier,in West Wickham!

The standard exhaust does degrade after a period of time, with the heat/dirt etc,but polish it regularly and it will still shine, they tend to go spotty, even though they been polished!
Don't think they're a particullarly good grade of stainless.and they are magnetic, and high grade is'nt!

looking at the website, the SV red is like a bright tomato red while the Bandit red is more a burgandy red. I would go with the red. The blue and silver one are too much.

And they have Black Bandits? So that is where the black paint has gone. Must have been none left for the SV.

I've got a K6 bike, and in Feb I got a set of lowers fitted by Crescent. I picked it up in the dark, and it was snowing, so I didn't get a good look at it, but next time I got it out the sun was shining. And I noticed straight away that the lowers were a different colour to the rest of the bike!

Turns out that Suzuki hadn't released any bodywork in the new colour yet, and I had to wait a few weeks for them to get some in and change them over. They actually look pretty similar, but when the sun is shining you could clearly see the lowers were metallic, unlike the rest of the bike which is flat red.

So, to answer the question: The K6 is flat red, not metallic!
