intermitent mis fire and stalling - SV650.org

when pulling away it takes a bit of throttle to get it going but once on the move it seems like she wants to fly
the plugs are fairly new (bout 1500 miles) so not that but ive also noticed than when revving at stand still i get occasional puffs of black smoke and flames shooting out the exhaust and the idle flutters before returning to normal
its an 03 pointy
any ideas

hmm. Thats a toughy. If you had a carbed bike I'd say the carbs were possibly out of balance or something along those lines.

Not sure. Could be an ignition system fault, or maybe a timing fault? Try pm-ing sid squid, I'm sure he'll have more of an idea than me

Ive had a similar problem Does the dash flicker at the same time??
I found one of the plugs to my front coil had worked loose and was just about disconnecting.-check them.
Go over all the cdi connections and the battery leads.
