Default Rear caliper question

Is the SV's rear caliper the same as the SRADs and previous gsxr's?

Cause I've found some stainless steel pad retaining pins on "the bay"

I would say YES, i moved a caliper from a SRAD to a TL which is also the same as the SV (curvey).

Cheers TSM

Brought them now, mainly because i changed them (the pins) a year or so ago and noticed that were the pads sit on the pin, they'd dented with corrosion, causing the pads not to move as freely causing (over time) the pads to wear unevenly and poor rear braking

I've noticed some internal differences but externally they should all bolt on. My hayabusa caliper has different pads to my Sv caliper...

Not that I own a whole hayabusa... You've gotta start somewhere.

I got some of those- make sure you've got the ones that are the right size! He made some that were slightly too big... Told him about it but I wasn't too bothered, they were £3 or similiar. He sent a set of smaller ones without even telling me he'd do it, after I'd left positive feedback and everything- top stuff, really impressive. I think teh first lot are 5mm, the new onse are 4.7mm or similiar.

One difference with the SV rear caliper is that it has two bleed nipples. This is because it sits under the swingarm and is prone to airlocks.I don't think the other models that use the same type of caliper have this.

Nah, there's loads of models that use the same one- all the SRAD gixxers, Hayabusas, older GSXRs... All for underslinging. Some of the Busa ones are slightly different though, mine has slightly different pistons which I'm told are titanium. Perhaps they are. Takes the same pads though.
