Hey, im really interested in gettin a 1999 sv650s, though i have to get it restricted to 33bhp. I've been told that it might only do 85mph, where as my bandit400, will do 100. Im just interested weather this is true cos i will be really dissapointed if it is. How are they restricted? fuel (like with my bandit) or air restriction, or can it be done both ways.
Advice would be greatly appreiated, couldnt stand spending lots of money on a slower bike (thought i get full licence in september) Thanks again |

Potentially more than 100, depending on how optimistic the speedo is.

Does any one no any more detail about how its resrticted, would it still rev fine. With my bandit it revs fine, accerelates great as well, just knocks the top end off. Is the sv gonna be similar even tho its a v-twin?

so chances are it'll accelerate faster, due to the torque, but go flat quicker cos the horsepower is at the top of the rev range which it wont be able to reach? as long as it goes as fast or faster i dont really mind, cos i can derestrict it soon, just in the mean time i still want the top speed and acceleration.
Anyones got a good guess at top speed with the fuel way of restricting it? |

If you mean washers, mine indicated about 105mph.
