Afternoon.
Just thought I throw this up for intertests sake, it's a small spiel about the mooted '99 Laverda Lynx 650 using our favourite mid sized v-twin. Package is something like Monster meets enduro in it's visuals. Aside from the back lights and a few minor details the Lynx still looks quite fresh, kudos to it's stylists. An exhaust like that on the '07 SV would be cool. http://www.motorcycledaily.com/lynx.html ![]() |

That looks really nice, the back end especially: almost like a Speed Triple with a nicer swingarm.
Dropped bars, wider radiator with small discreet scoops on it, gloss black colourscheme and bandit-style clocks and it'd be gorgeous. |

I don';t like the frame, it's neither one or t'other.
IIRC that's the project that eventually became the Cagiva Raptor... I think Laverda's owned by the same company. Though that culd be rubbish.

I quite like the tank and frame, sort of monster meets pointy.
![]() Laverda tended to use decent suspension, probably Paoli forks (sp?) and the five spoke wheels and swingarm are nice. Tail is a little bulky looking and the can goes straight in the bin with the footpegs. 7.5 outta 10. ![]() |

Yes I remember seeing that, and rather liked it too. Probably not a bigger enough market place for two Italian exotics using the venerable SV650 motor, seeing as Cagiva's Raptor isn't a particualarly big seller either.

Laverda is now owned by Aprillia but was an independant firm then. They made a similar bike with their own parallel twin engine as part of a range all using this motor. I had a 750 sports version. It had top quality suspension and a great Nikko Bakker frame and was my first "modern" bike.I loved riding it but it was unreliable and the engine was a bit of a tractor.I swapped it for a Kwak ZX6R and did'nt regret it.
