Well i have new crash mushrooms and cant get the old one out. They are DHM, seem to be mad out of chocolate! the right hand side one is made from several pieces, it all came off except the threaded bolt with no end and its a bit bent. I thought the only way to get off was mole grips, really tight but to no avial. I dont have a clue how i am supposed to get it out, Bigger mole grips and tighter??? mmmmm looks very tricky as theres a radiator hose in the way, but it can be pulled back and can get the mole grips on their but just wont budge.
Any suggestions, need help as MOT soon and doesnt look safe when their are missing engine bolts without crashmushrooms in! Cheers Ash |

Not sure what you are talking about. It isn't the bar that goes through the block is it? Hit it back through the block using the new one that came with the new bungs. Use a plastic mallet so you don't damage the new one. |

If it's just a threaded bar then two nuts tightened up against each other should do the trick.

To fit DHM's you remove an engine bolt from each side, and replace them with a short length of threaded bolt, one end screws into the engine and the other screws into a cylinerical piece of metal that a whole bolt screws into holding the end of the crash mushroom. So the bit thats stuck in is a length of threaded metal bolted into the engine which is bent and have no way of removing. Any ideas??????
Cheers for any advice |

If the thread's intact thread 2 M10 nuts onto it, tighten the two together, then use a spanner on the inside bolt. If that fails, you could grind flats onto the stud and then use an adjustable wrench...
This is where tradition dictates that I slag the DHMs off a bit more. *****, they are. Mainly for the design of the RHS bung, which on the first ones at least, was simply woeful. Later ones might have been changed.
