You lot will be glad when I'm done!!
Decided to use the GSXR 1000 yokes not the 600 ones and get a new fitting kit for my damper. The ignition mounting is in the center on these yokes not offset to the right like stock SV yokes or GSXR 600 ones. Will this cause any clearence issues? The ignition barrel bottom should still have clearence over the lug on the frame that holds the faring on (see pic) Also will it cause any issues with throttle cable clearence / rubbing? Anyone fitted a set of yokes with centre ignition OK? Cheers yet again, Kieran |

Take at the section of the headstock where the fairing bracket bolts to and you'll see a hole just above it. The locking pin in the ignition goes into that.
On the curvy(centred ignition) that hole is to the left. With yours being in the centre the ignition has to be offset to the right(as originally) so the wheel is locked to the left when steering lock is engaged. Therefore a yoke with the ignition in the centre the steering lock will only work with the wheels in the straight ahead position. Cheers Ben |

But the notch in the headstock is offset to the left. This is so you have the bars on full lock when it's ignition lock is used. Makes it harder to push the bike away anywhere!
With the centrally fitted barrel, you'd have to go past full lock to find the notch. Without looking at your setup any closer, my guess is you'll have lost the steering lock mate. ![]() Are you using the SV barrel? If not you might end up with the usual anti-tamper problem. There is a resistor embedded in the barrel to stop hotwiring. The GSXR could use a different resistor. Just something else to bear in mind. |

Thinking of selling the 1000 yokes to find a 600/750 set that fit my USD forks and have igntion offset to right to allow me to retain the steering lock. |

Option for the brave: grind out a new hole for the ignition bolt?
