Default Handlebar "Balancer"

Hello all,

I've been following the forum for a few months now, and purchased a red K6S 2 months ago. Well, believe it or not, it ended up laying on it's right side in my garage (sigh). Luckily, the only damage was a bent rear brake lever, a scratched tailpipe, and a marred bar end. I've looked at the service manual, and I've been scratching my head at the handlebar end. It's identified as a "Handlebar Balancer". What exactly is it balancing? I need to replace the bolt, as it now has a slight bend in it, I've taken the whole assembly out, and all I see is a few rubber compression bushings to hold the end piece in place. Am I missing something here?

My current line of thought is that I can just buy a one piece bar end with the expansion piece built into it and call it day. Or am I missing something?

Great site btw, tons of good info. I blamed the bike purchase on you guys. :P

Balance is probably a bit misleading; it's more dampening the vibrations, also it slows the movement a little.

Cheers Mark.

just get some bling aftermarket ones from your local store, about £15 over her £20 dollars to you sir?

and yes its a compression bushing it just presses into the bara when you tighten the bolt, and damps the vibrations through the bars,

oh and welcome.

Thanks for the info. I've got a pair of fancy red anodized aluminum ones on the way
