Default Pointy to curvy

May have been asked before but will a pointy shock fit onto a curvy, i know what youre thinking (why bother), well its my other halfs bike & she wont want to go down the fit a gsxr shock road & she doesnt ride like a loon or corner at 100mph. I rode her bike up the drive the other day & it was like riding a rocking horse on a pogo stick so i just thought i'd try to stiffen things up a bit.
Any other suggestions welcome.

Yes, it'll fit. However it's approximately 9mm shorter, this will make the rear of the bike about 25-30mm lower.

Not to mention that the spring rates are vastly different, with the EFI ones being significantly softer.

The better option for a carbed bike is the fitting of a ZX10/636 shock unit.

Now that is strange, the shock on my pointy was always stiffer than the one on her curvy, as for the ZX10/636 shock, i've got one comming for my Z1000, maybe i will put my standard shock onto her curvy, it's got to be better than what she has there at the moment.

Spring rate is only one of the many things that determines how hard or soft the rear suspension will feel.

Exactly, the reson your EFI bike feels firmer is because the shock unit is newer and the whole rear suspension geometry is different. DO NOT put the shock from the EFI bike onto the carbed one. It is dangerous!
