Now is it just me or does anyone else find the o/e seat on their curvy sv uncomfortable and find they slide into the tanK?
I had enough today (ive had been riding her 2 days!) of sliding/being wedged against the tank and have ordered a corbin seat, my zx9 has one and they are sooo much nicer! |

I wouldn't say the original seat was uncomfortable, but it is pain as it's a bit slippery when wearing textiles but I've not really had a problem wearing leathers.
The gel seat is abit less slippery and a bit more comfy. Not tried a corbin seat.

I found a inch cut out the padding in the curvy seat transforms it for riding...

I have a corbin seat, it does make my bum look big but it's very comfy

I had a corbin seat on my first SV and I wasn't very impressed with it - found it quite hard!

Interesting debate. Personally, I commute a hell of a lot, and I'm using the OEM foam seat. I don't really suffer the effects of a bad seat, but I'm still interested in a more comfy one (mainly because of the sliding forwards in textiles issue).
Does anyone have any links to decent companies that are pretty cost-effective (aka cheap)? Also, sending my existing seat off to get it altered is not an option as I need the seat to be able to commute on the SV ![]() |

I scooped out a curve, leaving the front and rear edges as standard and used a 12" hacksaw to slice a piece of foam off, about 1" in the middle of the seat. Really makes a difference to the feel of the bike, much more "in it" rather than "on it". Just need a decent staple gun to refit the cover. |
