I was going to say yes I know that the speedo stops at 170!
Have you checked the cable? Could've come loose. I'm sure it's cable driven and not electronic (I should know I've owned two of them). You may be able to get a replacement cable if not new speedo unit off ebay will do! |

Definitely the front wheel. Mate of mine disconnected his speedo on his 98 ZX7R as it also stops the odometer from clocking the miles up. He judged his speed from knowing what gear he was in and using the rev counter.

Sorted.
Had a look at it last night and it had come loose at the "clocks" end. Tightened it all back up and it works perfectly again. |
