Default Scary moment....and not even on my bike!

Well, I reckon I just came within 5 mins of losing the windows of my shop

A bus caught fire right opposite my shop, leaking fuel, exploding tryes, me trying to call the fire brigade and get my shutter down at the same time.

Fortunately, no-one was on board, but by the time LFB got here, thee flames were higher than the back of the bus, and there was a trail of burning petrol running down the road. I reckon in a few more mins the petrol tank would have blown.

Anyway, am off home now for a beer.

Jo -> still shaking at what could have happened!

glad you and the shop are ok.

PS. Excellent gear - that jacket is brilliant. I may actually make it to Scotland without actually using the heated stuff.

Ended up with a glass of wine in the end.

Good job it was only one glass, as I got a call from the RSPCA to tell me my cat (who'd been missing for nine weeks) had been found, in a bad way, 10 doors down the road!

One manic drive to the vets to get her on a drip, and now I'm shaking all over again.

It's been quite an eventful evening.

Jo -> altogether a bit emotional at the moment

Glad to hear you're alright... and the shop too!

Was it a Bendy?

Wasn't a bendy, just a normal double decker....well normal except for the flames.

I do have a short (about 5 second) clip on my mobile, but I'd have to work out how to download it to my PC when I get home.

I must have driven past your shop very shortly before this happened. I was told off by Mrs Wyrdness for looking in the shop as I drove past and then having to brake hard when the traffic ahead stopped.

I hope that your cat makes a full recovery.

After such a hectic week...I'd kind of forgotten about the bus fire...until my copy of the local paper turned up.

So, especially for Kilted Ginger, pictures of the burning bus:
