Default Is it the Battery whats Knackered?

Just picked up my Sv - She hadnt been moved for 8 months so i expected the battery to be flat(it was, had to use jump leads). However when i got home and tried to start her again she wont even turn over(covered 60 miles with no lights either).

Had it on the Oximiser and the battery "says" its fully charged?

If it is knackered how much are we looking at (Ebay seems to be 25 quid plus postage)?

Sounds like the battery is a goner!! The last one I bought was £45 from my local Suzuki dealer!!

Can you describe the symtoms some more. Have you got working dashboard lights, headlights, does the starter try to turn the bike over, do you get any buzzing or clicking from the bike.

Also what model and what year is it ?

Dash Lights are on - but the engine doesnt turn over anywhere near quick enough. Not getting the clicking you normally get under such circs?

Ok that does sound like you battery hasnt got enough charge to turn the motor over on the starter.

How long have you had it on the Oximiser for ? Might be worth leaving it on the charger overnight and trying again tomorrow.

I expect that the battery is knackered, after being stood for so long with no charge.

How old is your bike ?

Personally I'd leave it on the Oximiser overnight and then try again tomorrow, but I suspect that your battery is duff.

Time for a new one.
