Insure it tomorrow. Whenever I've got insurance, they've said "OK, you're insured from now and we'll post details to you." So long as you pay them on the phone.

You might want to insure it now. You might not hold a licence, but at least it'll mean its insured for theft.

When I passed my test last year, the dealership wouldn't let me have the bike until they'd received the insurance certificate, but I couldn't get insured until I'd passed my test. Which meant that I had to sit and wait for the post to arrive.

Fortunately it turned up the day after I did my DA, so all was right with the world

Was it a brand new bike? Cos they would need the insurance document to get the bike taxed.

When I got my new bike, which was before I did my DAS test, I got it insured from the day I was hoping to pass my test, all paper work came through 2 days before my test.

Insurance co were happy to do this and said I sould ring them if I fail so they can change the policy.

I had a hard time insuring mine before I got my license... Most companies just didn't seem to understand the question. I bought it about 2 months before I could do my DAS.

I had my bike insured before passed my test, and before I did my CBT. After all if i ride the bike with no lisence then my insurance is invalid.
