As of monday, this'll be my new ride.
![]() I've decided, sport dont suit what i use my bikes for. So i've gone for an all out, large engine, sports tourer. With tourer being its main focus. Let me present my FJR1300. ![]() More photos to follow when i pick it up on Monday. |

Not my cup of tea but it's horses for courses really - does look nice in black though. Classy.
![]() So why this rather than some of the other sports/tourer 'usual suspects' - Viffer, Blackbird, Sprint ST and the like? |

My selection criteria were:
Overall, i had to think about what i use it for. Commuting and occasional weekends away. Rarely do i go for a weekend race. I went through the usual thoughts of VFR, blackbird, sprint and busa. VFR, not big enough. I enjoyed it as a courtesy bike but not really what im after. Servicing aint cheap either. Blackbird, a bit dated for me now. Sprint, the new one i really like. Just a little uncommon on the second hand market and pricey to match Busa, high maintenance. Not strong enough for two up touring. (cracked or bent sub frames) |

Congrats on the new bike.
I haven't ridden one but have seen a few being ridden extremely well(eg those virgin limo riders) and appear to indeed handle very nicely ![]() Cheers Ben |

Huh..if only my maturity would finally kick in for me to see the sense and advantages of such a machine as a sports tourer.*sighs*
