I've seen it too

I do find the SV pretty damn slappy compared to a lot of bikes, but i reckon a lot of it is due to the standard forks - the lack of decent compression means the steering ends up absorbing all the bumps. I do have some really bumpy rounds near me though.

to be honest, I have replace the internals with Ohlins springs and that is about it, although I do find it worrying when I hot a bumpy corner at 70 and everything goes brown.... Never had a tankslapper on the SV yet.. RD 350 yes but the SV is a bit bigger.....

Right who has them? and who hasn't?

That'd be a side mount I think? Pretty ugly, if I'm right. Might be transverse under the yokes though.

Myself, I don't think the SV needs it, on the road at least. If it's unstable, treat the cause not the symptoms- spend the money on your suspension instead. That way you get the other benefits as well as removing the problem. If your suspension's far enough off to cause slappers, it'll be evident at other times- and a damper's no use if you end up running wide on a bumpy corner.

Having said that, if it's cheap enough then a damper could be cheaper than even new springs in the front.

A damper will only mask the problem, get your suspension set up first. Setting the sag properly will still be cheaper than a damper.
