Default Winter Hack (Cage)

After being carless for 18 months, I have just bought a banger to smoke around in over the winter.

Citroen Xantia 1.9TD - 97 R reg. Roof bars, tow bar, fairly tidy. 98k miles. MOT until July 07.

£500 - insurance is £170 fully comp.

Even if it only lasts until the next MOT, it is still going to be cheap motoring (hopefully )

At 500 quid, why the fully comp insurance? Or did it not make a big diff?

My 98 Nissan Almera was cheaper to insure fully comp than going TPO or TPFT . Car is probably worth about £500-£650.

Cheers
Ben

Plus you get the free breakdown cover with fully comp Citroen--hates roads, loves garages innit?

Sounds like a good cheap hack to me and for £500 you can't go too far wrong.

Some of the quotes were actually cheaper for fully comp

I went for fully comp as it lets me drive my Dad's tranny van if I ever need to
